Four Middle School Students Place in National STEM Competition

The four students stand with their trophy

A team of Pine-Richland Middle School students placed first at the National TSA TEAMS competition held in Nashville from June 27 to July 1, 2025.

Rising eighth-graders Luke Guo, Jackson Lion, Aarav Pattan and Abhaya Tuladhar placed first on the multiple choice test, fourth in the design and build challenge, and fifth in presentation. The students competed against teams from 160 other schools in four events at the national competition.

This Pine-Richland team previously placed second in the state competition to qualify for nationals.

TEAMS is an annual competition for middle school and high school students designed to help them discover their potential for engineering. Using science, technology, engineering and math, students work collaboratively to solve real-world engineering challenges.
