Introduction to Art at PRMS

Seventh grade students will engage in both 2D and 3D projects using various mediums, always covering the Elements and Principles of Design and the Pennsylvania State Standards for Art Education.  Students are evaluated using summative, formative and benchmark art assessments.  

These assessments emphasize classroom effort and new art techniques taught and demonstrated, as well as reflective writings. This course is cumulative and sequential based on previous art experience.  
 
The eighth grade course is cumulative and sequential to seventh grade art. The class follows the same standards as the seventh grade course and completes the visual art studies that students began in first grade. At the completion of the course, students will be prepared to select various art electives offered at the high school level.
