PRMS Establishes Goals for Re-Designation (2022)
The STW process promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of middle school-aged students. A team of evaluators visited Pine-Richland Middle School and evaluated within the following four categories:
- Academic Excellence
- Developmental Responsiveness
- Organizational Structures and Processes
- Social Equity
We have established three new goals for the next three-year STW cycle in 2021-2022.
Here are the goals:
-
Continue to expand and refine our multi-tiered system of supports. While we have made great strides over the past few years, we have a long way to go before having a mature MTSS in place. Therefore, we plan to further define the roles and responsibilities of our building-level team and grade-level teams while also looking to include our off-team teachers and other support staff as a part of the process.
-
Enhance the use of our collaboration spaces. The 21-22 school year has brought us a renovated library and newly-developed collaboration space. Over the next few years, we will develop teacher leaders who will lead professional learning sessions around the use of these collaboration spaces.
-
Make decisions about our structures and curriculum with a diversity lens. At Pine-Richland, diversity is defined as all the ways in which people differ. Through this goal, the district and school will develop a collaborative process that will include staff, parents, and students for evaluating current and future resources. Once that process is established and communicated, departments such as English, Reading, Library, and Social Studies will use the evaluation process to make recommendations that consider the instructional value; challenge; student interest level; genre; and diversity of theme, genre, character, and perspective.
